Cloisonné glass

Conservation and restoration of stained glass since 1923

Vidriera cloisonné

Restoration of a stained glass window by Federico Vidal Puig owned by a private collector. Stained glass made with this technique was only produced at the beginning of the century by the Vidal furniture house and by the “Cloisonné Glass Co.” of London. The surviving works built with this method are few and fragile due to the weakness of the materials with which they are constructed. Interventions on these stained glass windows are slow and complex processes.

The workshop has worked on the restoration of some of these stained glass windows and has collaborated on several publications researching the history of the workshops and the characterization of the materials used.
