Casa Batlló

The restoration works of the main façade of Casa Batlló, designed by Antoni Gaudí, focused on the recovery of the crown glass framework of the original stained glass window. In these stained glass windows Gaudí worked with the Amigó workshop, one of the most prestigious of the time, with whom he already had collaborated before.

After successive restorations, the stained glass windows had lost some of the blown pieces that had been replaced by rolled glass, which is much more modern and does not blend in harmoniously with the piece. Gaudí used mouth blown and slightly wavy crown glass roundels. This intervention required releading of some panels. Casa Batlló alongside with Sagrada Familia is one of the most visited buildings in Barcelona.
