The Casa Amatller is a modernist building in Barcelona adjoining the Casa Batlló and near the Casa Lleó Morera, designed by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch between 1898 and 1900. The three buildings form what is known as ´the apple of discord´.
From 1960 the building depends on the Amatller Institute of Hispanic Art, foundation created by the descendants of the photographer Antoni Amatller. It was declared an art-historical monument on January 9, 1976.
During the years 2015-16 the restoration works were carried out on the main floor where the collection of furniture, paintings and glass of the family is preserved.
Casa Amatller still has the original lamps and light fixtures, many of them with stained glass. The central yard is covered by a complex skylight made by the Espinagosa workshop.
